"The Best Art In The World"
Anthony Haden-Guest has always had a front-row seat to the circus of the art world — and now he’s sketching it from the inside. The writer, raconteur, and perennial party fixture has traded the long-form exposé for the quick hit of a cartoon, distilling decades of gossip, glamour, and absurdity into a few deft lines and a punchline that bites. His drawings are equal parts satire and social anthropology: champagne-fueled scenes of artists, dealers, and collectors caught in the act of being themselves. Loose, funny, and just this side of cruel, Haden-Guest’s cartoons capture the delirious self-importance of a world he knows too well - and they remind us that the best jokes are the ones told by someone who was actually there.
