"The Best Art In The World"
By RUBEN NATAL-SAN MIGUEL May 1st, 2026
Following the great success of the second edition of the Brooklyn Print Art Fair, a new contender arrives - Conductor Art Fair, held at Powerhouse Arts in Brooklyn, New York.
Look out, Manhattan. This fair isn’t mimicking - it’s making its own statement. With a carefully curated roster of galleries from both local and international scenes, Conductor distinguishes itself through its diversity, clarity of vision, and strong selection of artists and presentations. The scale is refreshingly manageable - you can experience the entire fair in under two hours without fatigue. Powerhouse Arts President Eric Shiner is firmly putting Brooklyn on the map as a serious destination for art fairs and the marketplace.
HIGHLIGHTS:
Hidrante (Puerto Rico)
The work of Margarita Vincenty - an old friend dating back to our Boston college days in the 1980s - was an unexpected and welcome surprise.
Vincenty collects plastic waste, wood, and discarded materials, transforming them into abstract compositions that reflect the life cycle of matter and its capacity for regeneration. Her practice explores the ecological and poetic dimensions of collecting and transformation.
