"The Best Art In The World"

By MAYA FUHR July 23, 2025
Recently there was an incredible exhibition I was in and documented in my own 35mm POV in NYC @ Locker Room Gallery. The Locker Room presents a group exhibition featuring Paul Anagnostopoulos, Faustine Badrichani, Saxon Brice, Winnie Cheung, Maisie Cousins, Jeffrey Dell, Hannah Epstein, Maya Fuhr, Tyler Goldflower, Dan Lam, Theo Rosenblum, Summer Wagner, Cloe Vriet, Marguerite Wibaux.
The snake has long operated as a symbolic site of projection—across religions, cultures, and disciplines. It is at once feared and revered, associated with knowledge and deceit, rebirth and temptation, healing and danger. Its meaning is unstable by nature: always shifting, always shedding.
Opening in the Year of the Snake, this exhibition brings together artists exploring the serpent’s entanglement with power, pleasure, and survival through feminist, queer, and mythological frameworks. Snake Summer asks what it means to live with icons that refuse resolution—and what happens when we follow them into the heat. WM
