Here are some picks from the ADAA Fair, selected by artist/photographer Ruben Natal-San Miguel for Whitehot Magazine.

See below:

Mark Sheinkman presented by Von Lintel Gallery, The Art Show, Hosted by the ADAA Booth A19.

Mark Sheinkman (1963-) is known for paintings that explore space, volume, temporality and scale. An abstract painter with a connection to the tradition of large-scale abstract painting in New York, Mark Sheinkman’s extensive career depicts a core fascination with the essentials: line and space.

For over three decades, Sheinkman chose to limit his palette almost exclusively to densely layered compositions of graphite. Only in recent exhibitions has his focus shifted to color, resulting in multi-hued paintings, whose exuberant entwined figures express both spontaneity and a progressive reduction in form. His latest work features “all over'' fields of monochrome color, populated by single trails of knotted lines that glide languidly across the canvas.

Sheinkman’s work is included in the permanent collections of twenty-nine museums at home and abroad, such as the Museum of Modern Art, Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Whitney Museum in New York, the National Gallery in Washington, the Art Institute of Chicago, the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, the Cleveland Museum of Art, the Harvard University Art Museum in Cambridge, Yale University Art Gallery in New Haven, and the National Museum of Prints and Drawings in Berlin, to name a few. His work was also recently acquired by Los Angeles County Museum of Art.
