Monika Bobinska gallery is pleased to present a solo exhibition of new two and three dimensional collages by Adam King.

The works use collage and assemblage to create terrains which explore the dreams and fears of urban consumer society and its relationship to the natural world.

Large-scale flat collages made from wallpaper, pipe cleaners and print images create a tidal wave of debris - flowers, anatomical imagery, consumer items, broken cars, images of war - which threatens to burst out of the picture plane in a shifting mass of volumes and dimensions.

Three-dimensional collages such as 'Property Ladder' create a jungle of fetish-like images and objects, held together with complex skeletal constructions made from plastic cutlery.

King's kaleidescopic worlds are landscapes in perpetual flux, where nature and suburbia run riot in ambivalent encounters which combine the decorative, the political and allusions to the rich symbolism of still life painting.

Adam King completed his MA in Drawing at Wimbledon School of Art. His work has been short-listed for the Celeste Art Prize 2006 and 2007. Collections include V22 and Charles Saatchi.
