Alison Winfield Burns is a poet, writer, and painter. She is the author of the memoir, INFATUATION (excerpt printed in poet Allen Ginsberg's Bombay Gin, Issue 38.2, Naropa Press) and read at the 2010 memorial for Peter Orlovsky with Patti Smith (St. Mark's Poetry Project). Alison gratefully acknowledges funding from PEN American Center, 2012. She studied figure painting and drawing at the New York Academy of Art and the Water Street Atelier. She won a merit award for fresco at the National Academy of Design. Alison received her B.A. (Visual Arts) and B.S. (Astronomy) from Columbia University in 2005
