Kim Dingle at Sperone Westwater is really worth seeing -  I went to their sprawling location on the Bowery in New York City a few days ago and saw the show. It's ending on Saturday March 3rd, so run over there and take a look.

Dingle's grisaille paintings of children are painted on a hazy plastic material and that reminds me of Canadian artist Glenn Howarth, my late painting teacher who also used these materials. Glenn went through a phase of painting on plastic and the result is the ghostly interaction of the paint on the surface.

I spent several years studying this technique under Howarth along with my former classmate Trevor Guthrie who recently had a solo show at Gian Enzo Sperone's gallery in Sent, Switzerland. It's a small world, as usual in the art world. In the meantime we can look at art and Kim Dingle is a pleasure to see. WM
