The Art Fair Age by Paco Barragán
(prefaces by Amanda Coulson and Michele Robecchi), Charta 2008

Are there too many art fairs? Are art fairs outdoing biennials as cultural events? How should we interpret the increasing involvement of curators with art fairs? Analytical, well-documented and irreverent, The Art Fair Age is an unprecedented book that examines the ongoing evolution of the art fair phenomenon.

__________Friday, June 6, 11 to 2 pm
Carolina Nitsch Contemporary Art, New York (2.1/C8) –Art Basel

Richard Dupont. Terminal Stage
(texts by Richard Marshall, Nick Paumgarten and David Hunt), Charta 2008

The book has been published on the occasion of Dupont's installation Terminal Stage at Lever House NY (March – May 2008) which consisted of nine distorted yet hyper-accurate sculptural self-portraits that originated from a computer scan of the artist’s own body. Standing slightly larger than life-size in the transparent lobby of a landmark building in the center of New York City, these static “performers” allowed themselves to be looked at, photographed and even touched by curious passersby.

__________Friday, June 6, 11 am to 1 pm
Roslyn Oxley 9 Gallery, Sydney (2.1/S2) –Art Basel

The Moving images of Tracey Moffatt
(text by Catherine Summerhayes), Charta 2007

The first thorough monograph on an unquestionable protagonist of contemporary Australian art who inexhaustibly experiments with artistic languages through video and storyboard.
